Pumpkin can be prepared in every imaginable way. Whether as a soup, roasted in the oven or fried, it is as versatile as few other vegetables. Here is a sweet pumpkin burger with honey BBQ sauce, tomato, cheddar and rocket that you are guaranteed to make regularly from now on.

LET’S GO

PREPARATION

  1. For the Patties

Peel and core the pumpkin. Grate pumpkin and peeled onion and mix with the egg. Add Flour, starch, spices and mix all evenly.

  2. For the BBQ Sauce

    Mix BBQ sauce and honey.

GRILLING

  1. Prepare patties

Preheat The Otto Grill on medium level. Oil an Otto Wilde drip tray with a thin layer of vegetable oil. Also oil 4 pastry rings and place them on the driptray (It also works without the rings, just shape the patty to burger shape). Devide the pumpkin mix to all four rings and flatten.

  2. Grill

Place the drip tray with the rings on the level for the grate and set Meat-O-Meter on level 5. Grill for 6 minutes, then turn the rings. If needed, cut with a knife around the inside of the rings so the patty falls down and grill for 6 minutes again. Then take the patties out of the Rings, put them on a Grate, cover each patty with two slices of cheddar, and melt the cheddar on The Otto Grill.

SERVING

  1. Assembly Burger

Roast brioche buns, then pumpkin patty, rocket, tomato, onion, BBQ sauce and mayonnaise. Enjoy!
