Grilled Asian meatballs are always a good idea. Especially, if they are made from both meat and prawns – for the full protein load! After grilling, the Asian meatballs are sprinkled with roasted sesame seeds and served with homemade teriyaki sauce. Alternatively, if you do not have time to prepare the teriyaki sauce, you can also use soy sauce.

LET’S GO

PREPARATION

  1. Finely chop chili, cilantro, lemongrass and garlic.

  2. Peel the raw prawns and cut into small pieces. Combine them in a big bowl with minced meat. Add chopped chili, cilantro, lemongrass and garlic. Season with ground coriander and cumin. Add lemon juice, soy, oyster and fish sauce and mix well. Form small meat balls (3-4cm/1in diameter) spear on and metal skewers.

  3. Now prepare the homemade teriyaki sauce. Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.

GRILLING

  1. Preheat the Otto Grill at full temperature for a few minutes. As soon as the grill has reached its full temperature, slightly lower the temperature. Place the skewers on the grill grate and grill them slowly at Meat-O-Meter level 5 from all sides. Finally, turn the heat up, lift the grill grate to Meat-O-Meter level 1 and grill the meatballs from all sides until they are crispy and golden.

SERVING

  1. Place the grilled skewers with Asian meatballs on a plate, sprinkle with roasted sesame and serve with homemade teriyaki sauce (careful: the metal skewers might get hot, so use a glove in order not to burn yourself).
